  1. The Side Panel – A persistent, accessible inbox that stays with you as you navigate your browser, enabling direct messaging and case management without switching tabs.
  2. Direct Links from Key Systems of Record – Hi Marley Connect scans configured web pages for phone numbers and automatically provides direct links to existing cases. Note: While claim numbers may appear on pages, case matching only uses phone numbers, allowing for quick navigation and case creation directly from your system of record.

Downloading Hi Marley Connect

1. Pick Your Browser

Hi Marley recommends using Google Chrome for the best experience with the Hi Marley Connect extension. However, the extension is also compatible with Microsoft Edge.

If you're using Edge, you'll be prompted to allow extensions from other stores before installation.

2. Things to Know Before You Install

We want to make sure everything goes smoothly as you install Hi Marley Connect. Here are a few helpful notes to keep in mind:

  • You might need a little help from your IT team:
    Some companies or systems restrict downloading browser extensions directly from the web. If you see an error or the install button is grayed out, don’t worry—it just means your organization may need to enable access first.

  • Let your supervisor know if you run into trouble:
    If you are unable to log into this extension and you see an error, then we recommend talking to your admin.

  • They can help troubleshoot or get in touch with the right team to get you up and running.

3. Visit the Chrome Web Store

You have two ways to access the Hi Marley Connect extension:

Once on the extension page, click “Add to Chrome” (or “Get” in Edge), and confirm the installation.

4. Log In

After installation, a pink hi bubble icon will appear in the top-right corner of your browser toolbar.
Click it to log into Hi Marley.

Once authenticated, the icon will turn pink to indicate you're successfully signed in.

Note: After signing in—or after major updates—you may need to reload open tabs to ensure everything connects properly.

0 . Update Hi Marley Connect

Keeping Hi Marley Connect up to date ensures you always have the latest features, performance improvements, and compatibility fixes. Since browser extensions don’t update like traditional apps, the easiest way to refresh Hi Marley Connect is to reinstall it from the Chrome Web Store.

Here’s the quickest path to a fresh install:

  1. Open Your Extensions Menu
    Click the puzzle-piece icon in the top-right corner of your Chrome or Edge browser.

  2. Find Hi Marley Connect
    Locate the Hi Marley Connect extension in the list.

  3. Open Extension Options
    Click the ellipsis (⋮) next to the extension named Hi Marley Connect and select Options.

  4. Go to the Chrome Web Store Listing
    Scroll to the bottom of the Options page and click View in Chrome Web Store (look for the arrow-out icon).
    This opens the official extension page.

  5. Remove the Extension
    On the extension page, click Remove from Chrome.
    Confirm when prompted.

  6. Reinstall the Extension
    Click Add to Chrome (or Get in Edge) to install the newest version.

Once reinstalled, click the pink hi bubble to sign in again. Reload your open tabs to ensure the updated extension connects properly.

The Hi Marley Connect panel stays with you as you navigate different tabs.

  • Click the Hi Marley icon 📌 on the right-hand side of your browser.
  • The side panel will pop up, providing instant access to your Hi Marley Inbox.
  • To close it, click the X in the panel’s corner.

📝 Pro Tip: The side panel remains available across all tabs, ensuring that you never miss an important update!

 

2. Using the Side Panel

The Hi Marley Connect side panel functions just like your Hi Marley Inbox, giving you access to:

✅ Messaging → Send and receive policyholder messages instantly
✅ Search & Filter → Find cases efficiently within your workflow
✅ Message Templates & Translations → Use pre-configured responses for speed and accuracy
✅ Scheduled Messages → Set up future responses to maintain timely communication

📌 Adjusting the Panel Size

  • Click and drag the panel’s frame to resize for better visibility.
  • Resize the panel to fit your workflow needs without losing context.

 

3. Direct Case Linking

Hi Marley Connect visually detects phone numbers and may highlight claim numbers on configured web pages, but it only matches cases using phone numbers.
 

📌 How It Works:

Hi Marley Connect uses regular expressions (regex) to identify phone numbers in a variety of common formats, including:

  • 123-456-7890

  • 123.456.7890

  • (123) 456-7890

These and other variations are scanned across the page automatically.

📌 When A Match is Found

  • If a match is found, a direct link 🔗 will appear next to the phone number.
  • Clicking the link opens the associated case in Hi Marley, allowing instant communication.
  • If no match is found, a gray bubble ➕ will be displayed—clicking it allows you to create a new case within seconds.
    • Frequently, integrated systems may suppress the case creation button. When case creation is disabled in the web application, the GRAY bubble will not be displayed next to the 10DLC phone number.

4. Creating a New Case

When no existing case is linked to a detected phone number:

  1. Click the gray Hi Marley icon ➕ next to the phone number.
  2. The Create Case form will open in the side panel.
  3. Enter the required details and save the case—it’s that easy!

 

5. Signing In & Staying Connected

To ensure seamless operation:

  • Sign into the Browser Extension Side Panel at the start of your session. Doing so will also sign you into the Hi Marley web app, ensuring seamless access across both the extension and full application.
  • Check your browser bar: If the Hi Marley icon 📌 is pink, you’re signed in!
  • Reload tabs after signing in or updating to ensure full functionality.

📝 Note: Large updates may require refreshing your tabs to maintain connection stability.

 

6. Unread Message Badges

Stay on top of conversations at a glance! The Hi Marley icon in the bottom right corner of your browser — as well as the icon in the extensions menu — will now display a badge showing the number of unread messages. Whether you're actively browsing or checking in through your extensions panel, you’ll always have a quick visual reminder when something needs your attention.

 

7. Icon Position and Visibility Controls

 

Take control of your experience: you can now move the Hi Marley icon anywhere on your screen to fit your workflow.

Prefer to keep your view clean? You can also toggle the icon off and access Hi Marley directly through your browser’s extensions menu whenever you need it.

To toggle the Hi Marley icon on or off:

  • In Chrome:
    1. Open your browser’s Extensions menu (puzzle piece icon in the top right).
    2. Find the Hi Marley Connect extension.
    3. Right-click the Hi Marley Connect icon.
    4. Select Options.
    5. Toggle Hi Marley Large Bubble on or off based on your preference.
  • In Microsoft Edge:
    1. Open your browser’s Extensions menu (puzzle piece icon in the top right).
    2. Locate the Hi Marley Connect extension.
