How to Enable Translation
There are two ways you can enable Translation:
During Case Creation
When you are a creating a new case, select the Customer Language drop down. English is selected by default, but you may choose the language that best suits your client.* The drop down will be sorted with English and Spanish on the top (most used) followed by alphabetical order.
*NOTE: Our Chinese translation supports Chinese Simplified
During an Ongoing Conversation
When you are in a chat, select the Translate icon (see below). If you select a language other than english, then any inbound messages received in the selected language will be translated to English. All outbound messages in English will subsequently translate to the selected language.
Remove Profanity:
- Any translated words that contain profanity will be replaced with the string "?$#@$"
- This is automatically applied when a new message is received on a case with Translation enabled
Translation Considerations:
- If Translate is turned on, then Hi Marley automated messages are translated when they are sent, however they are not shown as translated in the Chat
- When translate is turned on, it can always be turned off, or changed to a different language using the aforementioned button in chats
- Names are not translated
- Grammar/punctuation affects translation
- example of Spanish to English Translation: Sí = Yes, Si = if
- If a customer uses Translation to message in a different language in one case, then their language preference remains when another case is opened
